American Poetry and American Art Songs: “America is a Poem.” The online ICAMus presentation by Aloma Bardi for the Lyceum Club Internazionale Firenze is accessible on the Lyceum channels.

The new online presentation by Aloma Bardi is an exploration of American music and poetry, with particular focus on the theme of Nature. A collaboration of ICAMus with Lyceum Club Internazionale Firenze-Sezioni Musica e Letteratura, and SguardiDanza-Centro per la Coreografia e le Arti Visive.

Aloma Bardi’s presentation, American Poetry and American Art Songs: “America is a Poem”  features slides including original texts and documents, and visual art from Antonella Bardi’s SguardiDanza Art Collection, mixed-media abstract collages inspired by Emily Dickinson’s poetry and Herbarium. In-depth materials include: links to YouTube tracks from Emergence, a recording of Emily Dickinson Settings by Aaron Copland, Luigi Zaninelli, Juliana Hall, Sylvia Glickman, Ella Jarman-Pinto, CD Stone Records 2019, performed by the duo Emergence Music (Nadine Benjamin, soprano and Nicole Panizza, piano); Song Texts & Translations; Bibliography; Performers’ Statements).
