Great success for the evening of American Art Songs in Florence, a new ICAMus collaboration with the Lyceum.

It was a memorable evening at the Florence Lyceum! Our program of American Songs and Poetry of Contemplation and the Natural World came to life through the talents of mezzo-soprano Dr. Tessa Romano and pianist LiLai Nan. The concert program, the introductions by Eleonora Negri (President of Lyceum Musica) and ICAMus Director Aloma Bardi, the warm international audience, the beautiful Lyceum venue overlooking the Arno, the glorious April day in Florence— every detail made this event a resounding success. American Music Center Curator Aloma Bardi presented a lecture on "Centuries of American Musical Originality" at the Liceo “Enea Silvio Piccolomini” in Siena. The students shared insightful comments and questions during the final discussion.

Presentation of Giancarlo Cardini Live, a newly-published volume of musical, musicological and personal tributes to Giancarlo Cardini, an outstanding pianist and composer, pioneer performer and promoter of American avant-garde and unconventional music.
