The Society for American Music has welcomed ICAMus as the Society’s first non-academic Affiliate Member. The Center thankfully acknowledges the guidance received from SAM over the years.
The International Center for American Music celebrates the decennial of its foundation (in Ann Arbor, MI, USA, 25 January 2002). Today ICAMus remembers its past, thanks its supporters, and works on new projects focused on the study of American musical sources.

ICAMus announces its discovery and publication of new Puccini manuscript correspondence that sheds light on “La Fanciulla del West”. Aloma Bardi discovered a recently acquired collection of Puccini holograph manuscripts at the Library of Congress Music Division. Puccini scholar Barbara Boganini has transcribed and annotated the documents, and has provided an Introductory Note, in Puccini, the United States and the Years of “La Fanciulla”: Previously Unpublished Correspondence of Giacomo Puccini to George Maxwell; With a Letter to Carlo Clausetti.
