New Puccini letters on “La Fanciulla del West” discovered by Aloma Bardi at the Library of Congress and published by Barbara Boganini in the ICAMus Web site.
ICAMus announces its discovery and publication of new Puccini manuscript correspondence that sheds light on “La Fanciulla del West”. Aloma Bardi discovered a recently acquired collection of Puccini holograph manuscripts at the Library of Congress Music Division. Puccini scholar Barbara Boganini has transcribed and annotated the documents, and has provided an Introductory Note, in Puccini, the United States and the Years of “La Fanciulla”: Previously Unpublished Correspondence of Giacomo Puccini to George Maxwell; With a Letter to Carlo Clausetti.
